Black and white is also a popular combination in minimalist decorating. If you are afraid that this will look too sterile, pick up some soft botanical prints and display them in simple black frames.
If you are afraid that all of these neutral colors equal bland, then add a touch of color, but choose only one color and build around it by choosing pieces in the same tone. Cool colors will exude a feeling of calm and serenity whereas warm colors will exude energy. Another way to add color is to dedicate one corner or area of the apartment to your favorite color. You can also take minimalist design in a different direction by creating a light and airy space. Choose breezy textiles such as linen, open-weave fabrics, and lace, and accent pieces with rounded edges and soft fabrics.
